safflower red pigment
Our representative product, safflower red pigment, is a red pigment obtained by extracting from the tubular flowers of safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius L.) of the Asteraceae family, and the main component is flavonoid cartamine. Benihana, which is the raw material, is mainly grown in China, India, etc., and is used as a coloring agent for chocolate, Japanese sweets, lipsticks, etc.

Characteristic
tone
It exhibits a bright red color in the pH range of 2.0 to 7.0, and becomes orange in alkaline conditions.
Does not change color due to proteins (milk protein, etc.).
It is extremely stable against light, and can be heated for short periods of time at temperatures below 75°C.
Solubility
Dispersed in water and oil, dissolved in dilute alkali carbonates, ethanol, and propylene glycol.
flavor
It is tasteless and odorless and has no effect on coloring foods.
Effect of metal ions
There is almost no effect on metal ions. However, Fe2+ and Fe3+ tend to darken the color slightly, so consideration must be given to the iron content.
Effects of drugs
In alkaline conditions (caustic soda, ammonia, etc.), the color changes rapidly from red to orange. Acidic acids (acetic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, ascorbic acid) will not cause discoloration.

Usage standards/precautions
- Kelp, meat, beans, vegetables, seaweed (excluding these processed foods)
