TOYOCHEM's Fichvita™ sensing system is used in the air mattress to prevent bedsores in Paramount Beds

TOYOCHEM CO., LTD. (President and Representative Director: Toshinori Machida, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) The sensing system "Fichvita ™" provided by Paramount Bed Co., Ltd. ( President and Representative Director　Tomohiko Kimura, Koto-ku, Tokyo) has been steadily increasing its sales volume in the two years since its launch in 2020, following a positive reputation in the market for the industry's first automatic posture detection sensor.

Fichvita™ is a non-optical behavior detection system that uses a combination of sheet-like units. Since it is possible to sense in a way that does not collect personal information and blends in with the consumer's "sense of visibility" from consumers, we have been conducting demonstration experiments to grasp the seating status of autonomous buses and the number of visitors and residents of stores in real time.
This time, the Fichvita™ has been adopted by Paramount Bed Co., Ltd., a fully automatic bedsore prevention air mattress that changes body position and maintains posture, and since its launch in October 2020, shipments have far exceeded initial expectations.

The inside of the Kokochia Riraku Flow mattress is equipped with a Fichvita™ that is sandwiched from the top and bottom. When the patient's sleeping position shifts and the mattress is deformed, Fichvita™In addition to detecting changes in the distance between them and automatically stopping the function that automatically changes positions (small flow) to prevent the occurrence of misalignment and falling out of bed, it also detects when the patient raises his or her body to leave the bed, and stabilizes the posture when sitting on the edge of the bed by increasing the internal pressure of the entire mattress and making it stiffer.

Fichvita™ Technology

Fichvita™'s capacitive sensor seats have been cultivated by TOYOCHEM so far electromagnetic shieldingThis is a thin-film, flexible sensor made possible by applying film design technology. By being able to freely change the shape of the product according to the usage environment, we have realized sensing for mattresses that has never been done before.
The output of the capacitive sensor is proportional to the area of the sheet. The use of a large-area sensor sheet in Kokochia Riraku Flow enables more precise sleeping position detection compared to pressure-sensitive sensors, which is useful for controlling the entire mattress.
