Toyo-Morton Saitama Factory introduces electricity derived from virtually renewable energy
~Reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 70% by switching all electricity usage~
Toyo Morton, Ltd. of the Toyo Ink Group ( President and Representative Director Yuichi Kobayashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) announced that in April 22, by using FIT non-fossil fuel certificates with tracking, laminating adhesivesThe entire amount of electricity used at the Saitama Plant (Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture), where manufacturing and development is carried out, has been switched to electricity derived from renewable energy.
This initiative is the first example of the introduction of renewable energy at the Group's domestic production sites. As a result, approximately 1,374 MWh per year at the Toyo-Morton Saitama Plant (FY2021 results, equivalent to approximately 609 tons of CO2 emissions equivalent to * per year) will be switched to renewable energy, and CO2 emissions from the plant will be reduced. About 70% of the will be reduced. The renewable energy electricity to be introduced this time will be compatible with RE100, an initiative by companies and others that aims to procure 100% renewable energy for electricity used in their businesses.
Going forward, we will continue to strive to reduce energy consumption by improving production processes and upgrading to high-efficiency equipment, and by developing environmentally-friendly products, we will propose reductions in CO2 emissions throughout the entire product lifecycle.
