Application technology of “polymer design” Painting alternative material
Technology overview
In recent years, the environmental impact of the multi-layer coating process, which requires repeated drying and baking processes, increases production time and energy costs, and has become an issue. In particular, developing paint replacement technology for automobiles is extremely difficult because the environment in which they are used is harsh and the bodies and interiors must have a high-quality design and a high-class feel. However, our group believes that the creation of alternative paint technology is essential to realizing a carbon-neutral society.
Therefore, our group is working on the development of technology that will save more energy than the painting process, while leveraging the strength of printing, which we have developed over many years and allows us to decorate only the necessary areas. In this effort, we are collaborating within the group and making full use of our core technologies in color material design, polymer design, dispersion, and coatings.
In addition to offering marking films products that are thinner than paint films, have a higher design quality, and can withstand harsh usage environments, we also provide gravure inks and hard coating agents, which are the constituent materials of the films.
